Football

Football overall, is the best sport ever created. You literally get to hit people and take your anger out on someone on a field. I am not saying actually get in a fight, but you get to hit players or run them over as hard as you want. Football is life to me. It help me stay on top of my school work. I like football because it is on a constant pattern; practice everyday and a game on Friday, and let me tell you, there s nothing like a Friday night football game.

Running out the tunnel, through the smoke onto the field is the best feeling ever. Looking into the stands and seeing everyone cheer on the team as you all come out, makes me feel like we had a job to do for the fans, and that was beat the other team.

Rivalry games are the best, most competitive games to go to. Two schools that do not like each going head to head, with alumni and scouts watching gives me motivation to play harder than ever. I play hard every game and try to play every down like it is my last. Football is my outlet to everything, whether it is just throwing and catching or playing an actual game. The football field is like my second home.

Basketball

I played basketball throughout high school except for my junior year. I had two different coaches, but it was an easy transition because the new basketball coach was also one of the football coaches.

I was the only senior on the team. I did not really like basketball like I do football. It was fun and all because it gave me something to do after school. I would not say I am the best basketball player, I know how to play. Also, building a brotherhood with my teammates was big because again, I was the only senior and everyone looked up to me to lead them.

I still play basketball for fun. You may see at the Grove or in the Kidd Center playing basketball sometimes. If people ever ask me to play I would, but the thing they do not know the talents I have on the court, and everybody is usually surprised when they watch me. I have dunked on a couple of people, so just fair warning if you want me to play basketball just make sure I am on your team. Anyone can get the work though.

Track and Field

Track and Field is one of the sports I played in high school. Long Jump, High Jump, 100 meter dash, 4x100 meter relay, the 4x400 relay were all the events I participated in. The boys won every meet we were in. The picture above are my teammates for the 4x100 relay and we killed every meet and we broke our own school record.
We always held the region meets at our school and above is the region trophy. Almost half the team consisted of football players, so that is why we were so good at everything we did. A couple of us hold records at the school today. I hold the Long Jump record, and one of my good friends hold the 110 meter hurdle record, another one holds the discus and shot put record. As a team for the 4x100 and 4x400, the football players ran those and we hold both of those records at First Presbyterian Day school.

One day, the time will come where everything comes to an end, and the best way to end my senior year of track and field was going to State and breaking the record in the 4x400 meter relay for $50.
